Cleanse The Colon Using Salt

Everybody has heard the saying “You are what you eat” well unfortunately nowadays we eat a lot of rubbish.

These poor eating habits are a hallmark of modern society, and the resulting build-up of toxins in the body is a well known effect that some say is a major contributor to all the major debilitating diseases such as cancers, heart disease, diabetes, inflammatory diseases etc.

Salt Water Purging – This Is A Simple Miracle Cure For Detoxification

Getting rid of these toxins must be a priority for maintaining a good general base health, and a mini industry has developed offering expensive (and, sadly, often ineffective) products and services, from herbal cleansers to laxatives and colonics.

But old fashioned practicality might offer the best solution of all: a simple salt water purge. This very simple technique can eliminate toxins from your body in the privacy of your own home, for very little cost.

This is more than an anecdotally evidenced home remedy, though. The original idea was developed by a doctor at Johns Hopkins University in the 1920s and featured in a prominent medical journal at the time.

Now, thousands are using it every day to cleanse their bodies and to feel cleaner, healthier, and more energetic. A few hundred years ago, cleanses, fasting, and detoxification were staple health practices common in a wide variety of cultures.

Now, people have lost touch with these simple methods for caring for ourselves, and our bodies require it more than ever.

Our food is more heavily processed, and our air, water, and soil are more polluted than at any point in history. All of these affect our overall health, making it important to have a clean body.

Nutrition & A Clean Body

Proper nutrition is built on a foundation of putting whole natural foods into the body. However, there’s a second component at work – the body’s ability to absorb and use those nutrients.

Several popular cleansing strategies can be effective. Herbal cleansers, fasting, and natural laxatives can all provide results internally, though cleansers and laxatives are often unnecessarily expensive.

Colonics are another popular option, though these clean only the colon.

The internal organs through which the body absorbs nutrients have to be clean, and a salt water purge cleans the entire alimentary canal.

What truly sets the salt water purge apart (aside from its ease and simplicity) is that it also cleans downs to the cellular level, removing toxins inside and around cells. This is a truly comprehensive clean that other methods just don’t provide.

The Importance Of The Digestive Tract

The importance of the digestive system cannot be understated. Did you know it has more nerve endings than your brain?

What’s more, taking care of it is no less important than taking care of your brain – when the digestive system doesn’t function correctly, the brain doesn’t get what it needs.

Learn to see the larger picture: the system that processes food and transports it around the body (the digestive system), and the nervous system that uses that energy to make the body work.

Let’s discuss how the body takes in nutrition for a moment. In the stomach, food is broken down by enzymes into a liquid that the body can absorb. As it moves through the small intestine, nutrients are absorbed through the intestinal wall.

Tiny finger-like projections called “villi” grow along the intestinal wall. These increase the surface area of the intestines, providing more tissue to absorb nutrients.

However, the intestines can only absorb nutrients and vitamins where they come into contact with the villi, so when waste builds up here the body’s ability to do so decreases.

Very simply put, keeping this part of the tract clear of waste and toxins allows the body to take in nutrients in top form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Isn’t salt bad for you?

Natural salt is a necessity for the body and mind to function correctly. The body contains numerous saline fluids that are vital for cellular processes (like blood, sweat, and tears, to borrow the cliché).

A simple lack of salt (a by-product of extreme dehydration, in fact) can take a terrible physiological toll.

So the short answer is that, no, salt is not bad all the time.

The salt water solution for cleansing contains the same ratio of water to salt as the other saline fluids in the body, so it passes through the tissues of the alimentary canal easily and is neither retained nor absorbed. Do not use table salt.

Always use a natural Sea salt, Celtic salt or Himalayan Rock salt. We don’t want to solve a problem caused by over processed foods with an over processed salt do we?

Will elimination become dependent on this salt water cleanser?

No. You’ll never become dependent on using the salt water cleansing method to eliminate wastes, but you’ll stop reaping its benefits. If you stop using the salt water, your body will return to the state it was in before you began – for better or worse.

Making & Using The Solution

Your stomach should be empty, and you should do this first thing in the morning. Before eating or drinking anything else, drink one litre of lukewarm or room temperature water containing exactly one tablespoon of natural salt.

Be sure to make these measurements precisely – use a measuring cup to get the 1 litre of water correct, and use a measuring tablespoon to get the exact amount of salt.

Then, drink the salt water within around ten minutes. It’s not necessary to down it in one swig, but neither should you leisurely sip it throughout the morning.

Stay near a bathroom, because a short time later the salt water will be eliminated from the bowels, carrying waste from the colon along with it.

If it’s not working, add a small amount of Magnesium Chloride or Magnesium Sulphate. Up to 1 heaped tablespoon is okay, and has no harmful side effects.

Drink some water 15 minutes after you start the process to speed it along if necessary.

The Nuts & Bolts Of How It Works

As we’ve discussed, the body contains a great deal of salt water already. When you drink more, the body automatically uses this excess saline solution to help clean the waste accumulating inside.

The waste and toxins are expelled along with the salt water. After all of that waste is gone (a process that may takes months), the body begins cleansing the cells as well.

The digestive system does have limits to how much it can hold, and when pressure builds up in one part of it, the body shifts it around to regulate this pressure.

The stomach can hold about two cups (500ml) of liquid, so when you’re about halfway through with your 1 litre or salt water, the pyloric sphincter (the valve muscle that connects the stomach to the intestines) opens.

When this happens, the salt water solution in the stomach begins flowing through the intestines, cleansing along the way.

It flows through the colon and is expelled, along with all the waste it has “scrubbed clean” along the way.

It takes up to an hour before the process gets to the other end and is usually all over in two hours. I find that the more regularly I do it the quicker the process is.

More Questions and Answers

“Should I take it every day?”

Yes, if you can. Not only does it aid in healing, but you’ll likely feel more energetic and may find that you have increased illness resistance. It will help avoid obesity as well.

I try to do it every weekend. I’d do it more often but I am off out the house to quick in the morning… and you certainly want to make sure you are very close to a loo for the first two hours of the day.

“What if the salt water does not come out my colon?”

This simply means your kidneys need to be flushed. Continue the regimen, and eventually your kidneys will be flushed, and the salt water treatment will begin to take effect.

This has only happened to me once and that was after a very big hang over. After 2 hours nothing had happened so I repeated the process and once the kidneys had been flushed everything worked as it should.

“How long do I have to wait before I can eat breakfast?”

It takes only minutes for the salt water to pass from the stomach into the small intestines, so not long at all.

It’s best to wait at least twenty minutes, but you don’t need to wait longer. To optimize the effects have some form of probiotic with your breakfast to help fill your newly cleansed gut with healthy flora and bacteria.
