Meditation can be defined as a practice where a person focuses their mind on a particular object, thought or activity to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state. This can be achieved a number of ways for example; doing a guided visualisation, walking, making art. There are literally thousands of methods of meditation. What you need to do is find a process that works for you.
