Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy that uses the power of positive suggestion to bring about a subconscious change to thoughts, feelings and behaviours. The process itself alters our state of consciousness in a way that relaxes the conscious part of the mind, while simultaneously stimulating and focussing the subconscious part.
This heightened state of awareness is reached using skilled relaxation techniques and it allows the therapist to make appropriate suggestions to help the client to create the changes needed in their life. Hypnosis is used for many purposes in the modern day. It has actually grown more in favor in recent years as a treatment for mental health issue, and hypnosis/hypnotherapy has become one of the more mainstream alternative treatments for anxiety.
